“Welcome to the fraternity of paternity,” were words of comfort that a close friend spoke, when I had given birth to a brand new season in my life. Up to that point, I had simply skirted around the thick forest of fatherhood. But I had not entered...... [view]

One of the the strange twists about modern science is that it sometimes gets used by the utterly irrational, who claim they've found scientific proof to back up their bonkers theories.

Reflections by comrade Fidel:
I did not want to talk a lot, but he obliged me to expand on things; I asked some questions and, basically, listened to him.
His words recounted the feats of the Chinese people in the last 10 months. Heavy and unseasonal snowfall, an earthquake that...... [view]

Description: Food can contain many harmful ingredients that we would not expect to find. These could be a result of chemical fertilizers used on fruits and vegetables, or artificial hormones or antibiotics given to animals. Organic foods try avoid these harmful additives and produce food naturally which is less harmful for the environment as well as individuals .
Also, the chemicals used in traditional agricultural methods can be extremely devastating to the environment and to human health. Agrochemicals degrade the land, pollute water and cause nitrogen pollution which eventually kills all living organisms in an aquatic environment. Not to mention that agrochemicals inadvertently end up in human drinking water supplies, and have been linked to cancer, birth defects, and low academic performance among other things.
By buying more organic food, we will lessen the demand for products grown in the traditional chemical intensive manner. By doing so, we will reduce the amount of chemicals entering our bodies and the ecosystem. [view]
