Description:   Food can contain many harmful ingredients that we would not expect to find. These could be a result of chemical fertilizers used on fruits and vegetables, or artificial hormones or antibiotics given to animals. Organic foods try avoid these harmful additives and produce food naturally which is less harmful for the environment as well as individuals . Also, the chemicals used in traditional agricultural methods can be extremely devastating to the environment and to human health. Agrochemicals degrade the land, pollute water and cause nitrogen pollution which eventually kills all living organisms in an aquatic environment. Not to mention that agrochemicals inadvertently end up in human drinking water supplies, and have been linked to cancer, birth defects, and low academic performance among other things. By buying more organic food, we will lessen the demand for products grown in the traditional chemical intensive manner. By doing so, we will reduce the amount of chemicals entering our bodies and the ecosystem.
